After all, the banks are receiving taxpayer funding, while having been very unrelenting toward these very same people who now will be taxed to pay them for their losses. Banks can afford to create their own facts on the ground because the big ones at least comprise the Federal Reserve, which will almost always come to their defense even while their customers are only protected only for deposit accounts and not for loans. The best rule of thumb is buyer beware. Do your research well, get to know your banker, refer them business, and only infrequently show your dissatisfaction.
